The dining room is available to retreat guests for all meals as we provide a full catering service. It can seat up to 150 people inside and can also accommodate outdoor dining on the veranda. Cafe blinds and patio heaters on the veranda ensure it can be used even during the cooler months of winter.
There are a number of outdoor areas where casual meals can be enjoyed – our chef may operate the barbecue in one of the courtyards or grassed areas and weather permitting, lunches can often be set up outside. Where two groups are sharing facilities, dining room times can be staggered according to the groups’ respective programs.
Our food service helps foster a home-away-from-home environment, so that retreat guests are made to feel welcome in the dining room at every mealtime, every day.
The Centre’s food vision encompasses much more than “three meals a day”- we are about fresh, healthy food and sound nutrition provided by balanced meals. Menus are designed around seasonal produce, catering to all tastes with a clear focus on homemade, healthy and nutritious options. Our chef incorporates local and international flavours while focusing on quality and variety.
We are flexible in our menu planning and can guarantee food variety during any group’s stay. Regular menu assessments are conducted by a qualified Dietician, to ensure menus reflect the season with a focus on delivering a well presented, nutritious and balanced menu selection.
With appropriate notice (at least two weeks) we are able to cater for most of the common food requirements including vegetarian, nut-free and gluten-free diets, food intolerances (such as lactose). Special food requirements can also be catered for.
Tailored menus can be developed for groups who may wish to incorporate a special meal or specific food choices into their retreat experience. We are also able to offer full table service meals, cocktail or other functions if required.
